Chevrolet Equinox EV Windshield Replacement Cost
The Chevrolet Equinox, which debuted in 2005, has been a mainstay in the compact SUV market for nearly two decades. Known for its blend of reliability and practicality, the Equinox uniquely balances performance with economic sensibilities. An interesting piece of trivia comes from 2023 when Chevrolet launched the Equinox EV, marking the brand’s commitment to electrification and modern technology advancements.
When considering the factors affecting the windshield replacement cost for the Chevrolet Equinox EV, several critical elements come into play. A significant factor is the advanced features associated with the vehicle’s design. The Equinox EV, particularly in its higher trim levels, is equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). These systems may include lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control, all of which heavily rely on sensors and cameras often mounted on or near the windshield. The integration of such features means that windshield replacement isn’t merely about glass but involves recalibrating the sensors—a process that inherently increases costs.
Another noteworthy factor is the differentiation among trim levels within the Equinox EV lineup. As you opt for higher trims, not only do you get additional ADAS features, but the overall complexity of the windshield setup might vary. For instance, trims like Premier or RS might have acoustic laminations or specific coatings that are not present in the base models, thereby affecting replacement expenses.
The availability of aftermarket parts is also a considerable factor in pricing. Newer model years, especially those with significant redesigns like the 2023 Equinox EV, often have limited aftermarket options. This limitation means that OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts might be necessary, typically coming with a premium price.
Model year changes significantly impact windshield replacement cost as well. For example, previous major redesigns in the Equinox lineup have introduced new sensor placements and larger windshields, which result in variations in replacement prices. The transition to the Equinox EV marked modern advancements in both technology and design, steeper windshield curves, integrated antennas, and extensive defogger elements could all lead to changes in how a replacement must be handled, further influencing costs.
In summary, the cost of windshield replacement for a Chevrolet Equinox EV is influenced by various factors including ADAS technology, trim-specific features, the availability or lack thereof of aftermarket parts, and significant model year changes. Understanding these elements is crucial for anticipating potential expenses associated with maintaining the vehicle’s advanced windshield systems.

Chevrolet Equinox EV Average Windshield Replacement Cost By Year
Not all windshields are built—or priced—the same. The cost to replace the glass on a Chevrolet Equinox EV depends on its year, trim level, and the amount of technology integrated into the windshield itself. Our average pricing reflects real-world replacement data across thousands of vehicles, then adjusts for the specific features found on your Chevrolet Equinox EV. Here’s how the range breaks down:
High-End Range
Some Chevrolet Equinox EV configurations—especially newer or premium trims—come equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as lane-keeping cameras, rain sensors, heated glass, or heads-up displays.
These require OEM-grade glass and a full ADAS recalibration after installation. Because of the precision equipment and labor involved, these versions land at the top end of the price range.
Mid-Range
Many modern Chevrolet Equinox EV vehicles include a few key sensors, like forward-collision or lane-departure cameras, but don’t need OEM glass. These jobs involve some recalibration and additional setup beyond a simple install, which places them in the middle of the pricing spectrum.
Low-End Range
Base trims or older Chevrolet Equinox EV versions usually feature plain laminated glass with no built-in electronics. These are the most straightforward to replace, requiring no recalibration or specialty parts, and therefore fall in the lowest cost tier.

They showed up on time, were professional, and very honest. A few months ago, the wire in my front driver-side window popped, and I had it repaired by another mechanic—but he clearly didn’t know what he was doing because it broke again. Glass Brothers quoted me $300 to replace the regulator based on my description of the issue. When they arrived, they found the regulator was actually still good—the previous repairman just hadn’t put the window back into the clips. Instead of charging me the full $300, they adjusted the price to $125 since the $165 regulator wasn’t needed.

Had my truck window broken out Friday night and they were able to replace it Monday morning and at a much better price than other places I got quotes from. Great service and price. I hope I don’t need their service again but if I do they will be the first place I call.
