What changes the price for a Acura TLX
- Honda Sensing on the TLX. A forward camera mounted behind the windshield is part of the system, and Honda’s position is that the camera must be recalibrated after a windshield replacement. Honda said in 2019 that Honda Sensing would be standard across its entire lineup by the 2022 model year — worth checking which year your TLX is.
- Genuine glass. On a TLX this matters: Honda has said aftermarket glass has kept the camera from calibrating properly and asks for OEM windshields on Honda Sensing cars; the price gap is covered in our OEM vs. aftermarket comparison.
- Age of the car. Older TLX models (2015–2017) average $362 in our table against $444 for 2022–2025.
- Calibration is its own charge. Where a TLX has a windshield camera it is calibrated after the glass is set; what ADAS recalibration costs explains the range.

Acura TLX: repair or replace?
A chip smaller than a quarter or a crack shorter than about three inches can usually be repaired — faster and far cheaper than a full replacement. Replacement is the safer choice when the damage is longer than a dollar bill, sits in the driver’s line of sight, reaches the edge of the glass (which weakens the whole windshield), or goes through both layers. A qualified shop can confirm which option your Acura TLX qualifies for.
Does insurance cover a Acura TLX windshield?
Whether insurance covers your Acura TLX windshield depends on your comprehensive coverage and deductible. A few states require insurers to waive the glass deductible entirely, and some insurers waive it for small chip repairs. See our guides to states with zero deductible for comprehensive glass claims and states with glass endorsement coverage to check the rules in your state.
