Honda CR-V Windshield Replacement Cost
The Honda CR-V, introduced to the market in 1995, has become one of the best-selling SUVs globally, thanks to its blend of practicality, reliability, and innovation. Its name, CR-V, is often interpreted as “Comfortable Runabout Vehicle.” An interesting trivia about the CR-V is that it was Honda’s first in-house designed SUV, combining both function and form in a unique way.
When considering windshield replacement costs for the Honda CR-V, several factors come into play. One primary aspect is the presence of Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), which have been increasingly included in newer models – particularly post-2017 redesigns. These systems, which can include features like lane-keeping assistance, collision warnings, and automatic braking, require specialized windshields with sensor compatibility, dramatically affecting replacement costs due to necessary calibrations and specific parts.
Trim levels of the CR-V also significantly impact windshield replacement expenses. Higher trims, like the Touring or EX-L, generally come equipped with a fuller range of sensors and technical enhancements, including rain-sensing wipers or acoustic interlayer glass for noise reduction. These features necessitate specialized windshields, whereas entry-level trims might only require standard glass, thereby reducing costs.
Another relevant factor is the availability of aftermarket parts versus OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts. While aftermarket options might be more budget-friendly, they could lack the same level of component integration and quality assurance as OEM parts, which are designed to fit seamlessly with Honda’s specific engineering standards.
Finally, model year changes play a crucial role in windshield replacement pricing. Notably, the 2017 redesign brought significant updates in safety technology and aesthetic upgrades, resulting in costlier replacement needs due to the increased complexity in windshield design and installation requirements. As each new model introduces innovative features and revamped structures, these updates consistently influence the overall price of maintaining and replacing windshields, underlining the importance of staying informed about model-specific details when addressing windshield-related issues.

Honda CR-V Windshield Replacement Cost By Year
Not all windshields are created equal, so it makes sense that not all replacements cost the same. Depending on the vehicle and the technology built into the glass, replacement prices can vary significantly. Here’s how we break it down:
High-End Range
Some vehicles—especially newer or luxury models—are equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), like lane-keeping cameras, rain sensors, heads-up displays, and built-in heating elements. These features require original equipment manufacturer (OEM) glass and a complete ADAS recalibration after installation. Because of the specialized parts and labor involved, these replacements fall at the top end of the price range.
Mid-Range
Many modern cars come with a few standard features—such as forward collision sensors or lane departure cameras—that require basic recalibration after the windshield is replaced. These windshields typically don’t require OEM glass but do involve some extra steps beyond a simple install, which puts them in the moderate price range.
Low-End Range
Older vehicles or base models often have a simpler setup: plain laminated glass without any built-in electronics or sensors. These windshields are the most straightforward to replace, and therefore, fall into the lowest price tier.

Installer was friendly, but left black tape on the car and told me to leave it for 2 days. He also said I should not drive the car for 2 days! Later I found sticky goo on the paint around the windshield. This did not happen when we replaced my wife's windshield with another company.

Highly satisfied with my front windshield replacement. They called me within an hour of putting in my request for a quote and set me up for an appointment 1 day later - friendly service over the phone. The technician arrived on time at my place, was very polite and quick on the job. The invoice was the same amount as I was previously quoted, it was a very fair price and easy payment system over my phone. I drove my car on the interstate the next day for 8 hours and there were no issues with the windshield - very happy with new crack-free windshield!

Although happy with the results.I can not give 5 stars. I waited most of the day between 9a-4p. I would of appreciated a narrower window, such as morning or afternoon. (at least)
