What changes the price for a Honda Accord

  • Honda Sensing on the Accord. A forward camera mounted behind the windshield is part of the system, and Honda’s position is that the camera must be recalibrated after a windshield replacement. Honda said in 2019 that Honda Sensing would be standard across its entire lineup by the 2022 model year, so a recent Accord very likely has it.
  • Which glass for a Accord. Honda has said aftermarket glass has kept the camera from calibrating properly and asks for OEM windshields on Honda Sensing cars — that includes the Accord. OEM, OEE or aftermarket explains the trade-off for a Accord.
  • Age of the car. Older Accord models (1986–1998) average $274 in our table against $353 for 2011–2021.
  • Calibration cost. On a Accord with a camera, recalibration is billed separately from the glass; see what ADAS recalibration really costs.

Honda Accord: repair or replace?

A chip smaller than a quarter or a crack shorter than about three inches can usually be repaired — faster and far cheaper than a full replacement. Replacement is the safer choice when the damage is longer than a dollar bill, sits in the driver’s line of sight, reaches the edge of the glass (which weakens the whole windshield), or goes through both layers. A qualified shop can confirm which option your Honda Accord qualifies for.

Does insurance cover a Honda Accord windshield?

Whether insurance covers your Honda Accord windshield depends on your comprehensive coverage and deductible. A few states require insurers to waive the glass deductible entirely, and some insurers waive it for small chip repairs. See our guides to states with zero deductible for comprehensive glass claims and states with glass endorsement coverage to check the rules in your state.
