Buick Encore Windshield Replacement Cost
The Buick Encore, launched in 2012 for the 2013 model year, marked Buick’s entry into the burgeoning subcompact crossover segment. Designed to cater to urban dwellers and small families, the Encore quickly gained popularity for its blend of upscale comfort, maneuverable size, and efficiency. An interesting aspect of the Encore’s history is its manufacturing process; it’s produced at the GM Korea plant and ranks as one of the most globally collaborative vehicles in the GM lineup.
When considering windshield replacement costs for the Buick Encore, several factors can significantly influence pricing. Key among these is the presence of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which have become increasingly prevalent in late-model years. Introduced prominently in newer models, features like lane departure warning and forward collision alert necessitate specialized camera integration into the windshield. As such, replacement costs can be higher than on older models without these technologies.
Trim levels also play a critical role in determining replacement expenses. Higher trims often come equipped with additional amenities like rain-sensing wipers or acoustic glass for noise reduction, both impacting the complexity and cost of a windshield replacement. The Preferred and Essence trims, particularly in the 217 redesign, included such enhancements, further affecting the replacement cost due to the need for specific glass types and sensor calibrations.
Another vital factor is the availability of aftermarket parts. While generic windshields may reduce costs, their compatibility with Buick’s ADAS features can be questionable, often leading to potential investment in OEM parts to ensure proper functionality and safety. Between 216 and 22, Buick updated the Encore with aesthetic and technological upgrades, making it crucial for replacement windshields to match the exact specifications to maintain the vehicle’s performance and resale value.
Major redesigns, especially those post-217, saw the introduction of additional sensors and technological integrative elements that impact windshield replacement aspects. As model updates continue to involve complex electronic systems and materials, understanding these dynamics remains essential for accurately estimating the windshield replacement costs for the Buick Encore.

Buick Encore Average Windshield Replacement Cost By Year
Not all windshields are built—or priced—the same. The cost to replace the glass on a Buick Encore depends on its year, trim level, and the amount of technology integrated into the windshield itself. Our average pricing reflects real-world replacement data across thousands of vehicles, then adjusts for the specific features found on your Buick Encore. Here’s how the range breaks down:
High-End Range
Some Buick Encore configurations—especially newer or premium trims—come equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as lane-keeping cameras, rain sensors, heated glass, or heads-up displays.
These require OEM-grade glass and a full ADAS recalibration after installation. Because of the precision equipment and labor involved, these versions land at the top end of the price range.
Mid-Range
Many modern Buick Encore vehicles include a few key sensors, like forward-collision or lane-departure cameras, but don’t need OEM glass. These jobs involve some recalibration and additional setup beyond a simple install, which places them in the middle of the pricing spectrum.
Low-End Range
Base trims or older Buick Encore versions usually feature plain laminated glass with no built-in electronics. These are the most straightforward to replace, requiring no recalibration or specialty parts, and therefore fall in the lowest cost tier.
