What changes the price for a Chevrolet Camaro

  • Chevy Safety Assist on the Camaro. A front view camera module mounted to the windshield is part of the system, and GM’s January 2023 position statement requires a service-point calibration whenever a windshield with a front view camera is removed, reinstalled or replaced.
  • Body style. Different body styles use different glass: in the recent quotes, 2 Door Convertible versions were quoted $374 and 2 Door Coupe versions $321–$420.
  • Model year. In our data the 1986–1997 Camaro models average $337 while 2016–2024 cars average $421.
  • Separate calibration fee. If your Camaro has a windshield camera, the recalibration is a line of its own; this guide gives typical prices.

Chevrolet Camaro: repair or replace?

A chip smaller than a quarter or a crack shorter than about three inches can usually be repaired — faster and far cheaper than a full replacement. Replacement is the safer choice when the damage is longer than a dollar bill, sits in the driver’s line of sight, reaches the edge of the glass (which weakens the whole windshield), or goes through both layers. A qualified shop can confirm which option your Chevrolet Camaro qualifies for.

Does insurance cover a Chevrolet Camaro windshield?

Whether insurance covers your Chevrolet Camaro windshield depends on your comprehensive coverage and deductible. A few states require insurers to waive the glass deductible entirely, and some insurers waive it for small chip repairs. See our guides to states with zero deductible for comprehensive glass claims and states with glass endorsement coverage to check the rules in your state.
