Chevrolet Silverado Windshield Replacement Cost
The Chevrolet Silverado, a staple in the world of full-size pickup trucks, has been a symbol of reliability and ruggedness since its introduction in 1999 as a successor to the venerable Chevrolet C/K line. It quickly gained a reputation as a versatile workhorse, loved by both casual drivers and professionals alike. The Silverado’s evolution over the years has introduced numerous innovations, including the integration of advanced technology and stronger performance features across its lineup.
When considering windshield replacement cost for the Chevrolet Silverado, several factors play a critical role. Among the most significant are the Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) that have become prevalent in recent model years. These systems, including lane-keeping assistance, automatic braking, and adaptive cruise control, often involve sensors and cameras integrated into the windshield. Thus, vehicles equipped with ADAS, notably after major redesigns such as those in 2014 and 2019, may require precise recalibration during windshield replacement, potentially increasing the complexity and expense.
The trim level of a Silverado also affects windshield replacement costs. Higher-end trims, like the High Country or LTZ, typically come with more technological advancements and luxury features, such as rain-sensing wipers or acoustic dampening layers within the windshield, which can elevate replacement costs. Comparatively, lower trim levels may have simpler windshield designs, potentially reducing expenses.
The availability of aftermarket parts is another crucial determinant. More recent models, especially after significant redesigns, might have fewer aftermarket options, leading to reliance on Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts, which tend to be more expensive. Nevertheless, as models age and parts become more widely reproduced, the cost may decrease.
Lastly, changes in the Silverado’s model years significantly impact windshield replacement pricing. For instance, the 219 redesign introduced a suite of new sensors and a shift in the windshield’s structure, marking a noticeable shift in replacement dynamics. Conversely, the 222 model year, which focused on technological advancements rather than structural changes, might see differing cost implications, emphasizing how regular updates keep influencing service expenses.
In summary, the windshield replacement cost for a Chevrolet Silverado is influenced by a mix of technological integration, such as ADAS, the luxury of the chosen trim, availability of parts, and specific model year changes. These factors collectively determine the economic impact of maintaining this enduringly popular vehicle.

Chevrolet Silverado Average Windshield Replacement Cost By Year
Not all windshields are built—or priced—the same. The cost to replace the glass on a Chevrolet Silverado depends on its year, trim level, and the amount of technology integrated into the windshield itself. Our average pricing reflects real-world replacement data across thousands of vehicles, then adjusts for the specific features found on your Chevrolet Silverado. Here’s how the range breaks down:
High-End Range
Some Chevrolet Silverado configurations—especially newer or premium trims—come equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as lane-keeping cameras, rain sensors, heated glass, or heads-up displays.
These require OEM-grade glass and a full ADAS recalibration after installation. Because of the precision equipment and labor involved, these versions land at the top end of the price range.
Mid-Range
Many modern Chevrolet Silverado vehicles include a few key sensors, like forward-collision or lane-departure cameras, but don’t need OEM glass. These jobs involve some recalibration and additional setup beyond a simple install, which places them in the middle of the pricing spectrum.
Low-End Range
Base trims or older Chevrolet Silverado versions usually feature plain laminated glass with no built-in electronics. These are the most straightforward to replace, requiring no recalibration or specialty parts, and therefore fall in the lowest cost tier.

They showed up on time, were professional, and very honest. A few months ago, the wire in my front driver-side window popped, and I had it repaired by another mechanic—but he clearly didn’t know what he was doing because it broke again. Glass Brothers quoted me $300 to replace the regulator based on my description of the issue. When they arrived, they found the regulator was actually still good—the previous repairman just hadn’t put the window back into the clips. Instead of charging me the full $300, they adjusted the price to $125 since the $165 regulator wasn’t needed.

Had my truck window broken out Friday night and they were able to replace it Monday morning and at a much better price than other places I got quotes from. Great service and price. I hope I don’t need their service again but if I do they will be the first place I call.
