Chevrolet LCF Windshield Replacement Cost

The Chevrolet Low Cab Forward (LCF) series has been a staple in the world of medium-duty trucks, known for its durability and versatility. Initially introduced as the Chevrolet Series 6400 in the mid-20th century, it evolved through numerous changes before merging into the modern LCF lineup in collaboration with Isuzu. The LCF trucks are particularly popular for their flat-nose design, offering enhanced visibility and maneuverability, making them ideal for urban environments and delivery applications.

When considering the windshield replacement cost for a Chevrolet LCF, several factors come into play that significantly influence the pricing. Firstly, the inclusion of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in recent model years has driven up the cost of windshield replacements. ADAS features, such as lane departure warning and automatic emergency braking, typically require specialized calibration when the windshield is replaced, adding to the total expense. Newer models, particularly those following major redesigns after 2015, are more likely to include these features.

Trim levels are another important consideration. Higher trim levels often incorporate advanced technologies and superior materials, potentially necessitating more costly replacements. For instance, a premium trim may include acoustic glass or rain sensors, both of which could escalate replacement costs.

Availability of aftermarket parts is another critical factor affecting the windshield replacement cost for Chevrolet LCF trucks. While aftermarket parts can sometimes offer cost savings, they may vary in quality and may not support the full functionality of ADAS features. Additionally, the availability of these parts tends to decrease for newer models or those with recent redesigns, like the 2019 overhaul that introduced additional sensors and updated cab configurations.

Ultimately, the model year plays a pivotal role in determining the cost of windshield replacement. Significant updates or overhauls, such as those seen in the 2016 and 2019 models, often introduce new technologies that require specific parts and calibrations. As a result, newer models frequently face higher replacement costs compared to older versions. Understanding these factors can help in assessing the potential expenses associated with windshield replacements for the Chevrolet LCF series.

Chevrolet LCF Average Windshield Replacement Cost By Year

Not all windshields are built—or priced—the same. The cost to replace the glass on a Chevrolet LCF depends on its year, trim level, and the amount of technology integrated into the windshield itself. Our average pricing reflects real-world replacement data across thousands of vehicles, then adjusts for the specific features found on your Chevrolet LCF. Here’s how the range breaks down:

High-End Range

Some Chevrolet LCF configurations—especially newer or premium trims—come equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as lane-keeping cameras, rain sensors, heated glass, or heads-up displays.
These require OEM-grade glass and a full ADAS recalibration after installation. Because of the precision equipment and labor involved, these versions land at the top end of the price range.

Mid-Range

Many modern Chevrolet LCF vehicles include a few key sensors, like forward-collision or lane-departure cameras, but don’t need OEM glass. These jobs involve some recalibration and additional setup beyond a simple install, which places them in the middle of the pricing spectrum.

Low-End Range

Base trims or older Chevrolet LCF versions usually feature plain laminated glass with no built-in electronics. These are the most straightforward to replace, requiring no recalibration or specialty parts, and therefore fall in the lowest cost tier.

Chevrolet Silverado C1500

They showed up on time, were professional, and very honest. A few months ago, the wire in my front driver-side window popped, and I had it repaired by another mechanic—but he clearly didn’t know what he was doing because it broke again. Glass Brothers quoted me $300 to replace the regulator based on my description of the issue. When they arrived, they found the regulator was actually still good—the previous repairman just hadn’t put the window back into the clips. Instead of charging me the full $300, they adjusted the price to $125 since the $165 regulator wasn’t needed.
