Hyundai HB20 Windshield Replacement Cost
The Hyundai HB20, introduced in 2012, is a popular subcompact hatchback in Brazil designed to cater to the specific demands of the local market. Developed at Hyundai’s Brazilian manufacturing plant in Piracicaba, the HB20 quickly garnered a reputation for its affordability, attractive design, and suitability for Brazilian roads. Notably, the “HB” stands for Hyundai Brasil, marking a significant milestone as the vehicle was tailor-made for the region.
When considering the windshield replacement cost for a Hyundai HB20, several factors significantly influence the pricing. One key determinant is the presence of Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as lane departure warning and automated emergency braking, which were introduced in later models after significant redesigns, like the one in 2019. These systems often require precise calibration of the windshield, thus increasing replacement costs compared to earlier models without these features.
Additionally, the variant or trim level plays a crucial role. Higher trims often come equipped with more sophisticated windshields that may include acoustic layers for noise reduction or embedded antennas, leading to higher replacement expenses. The availability of aftermarket parts also impacts costs. While the HB20’s popularity means there is a decent supply of aftermarket windshields, the choice between genuine parts and less expensive alternatives can significantly affect the overall price.
Finally, major redesigns and model year changes can substantially impact the cost of windshield replacement. For example, the 2016 facelift introduced aesthetic and structural changes that affected windshield compatibility with previous versions. Understanding these factors is crucial for budgeting for a Hyundai HB20 windshield replacement cost, ensuring an economical and seamless repair experience.

Hyundai HB20 Average Windshield Replacement Cost By Year
Not all windshields are built—or priced—the same. The cost to replace the glass on a Hyundai HB20 depends on its year, trim level, and the amount of technology integrated into the windshield itself. Our average pricing reflects real-world replacement data across thousands of vehicles, then adjusts for the specific features found on your Hyundai HB20. Here’s how the range breaks down:
High-End Range
Some Hyundai HB20 configurations—especially newer or premium trims—come equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as lane-keeping cameras, rain sensors, heated glass, or heads-up displays.
These require OEM-grade glass and a full ADAS recalibration after installation. Because of the precision equipment and labor involved, these versions land at the top end of the price range.
Mid-Range
Many modern Hyundai HB20 vehicles include a few key sensors, like forward-collision or lane-departure cameras, but don’t need OEM glass. These jobs involve some recalibration and additional setup beyond a simple install, which places them in the middle of the pricing spectrum.
Low-End Range
Base trims or older Hyundai HB20 versions usually feature plain laminated glass with no built-in electronics. These are the most straightforward to replace, requiring no recalibration or specialty parts, and therefore fall in the lowest cost tier.

All in all, I'm very happy with my experience with The Auto Glass Guy. After comparing prices from other places, I feel like I got the best deal here. I had a broken driver-side window and a damaged windshield. I had just the driver-side window replaced. The technician made some very good suggestions in regard to a "bandaid solution" for the windshield until I could get it replaced. Since I have a high deductible for my comprehensive insurance, I wanted to pay out of pocket and avoid filing a claim. I gladly recommend The Auto Glass Guy to anyone who needs a new car window or windshield.
