Chevrolet S10 Windshield Replacement Cost
The Chevrolet S10, introduced in 1982, marked Chevrolet’s entry into the compact pickup truck market, known for its affordability and practicality. Over the years, the S10 evolved through multiple redesigns and enhancements until it was discontinued in 2004, making way for the Chevy Colorado. The S10’s legacy continues to thrive in other markets and among enthusiasts who appreciate its practicality and compact size. An interesting trivia is that in Brazil, the S10 is still in production, maintaining its popularity through numerous iterations.
When it comes to windshield replacement costs for the Chevrolet S10, several factors come into play. One of the primary considerations is the model year, as newer S10 models, especially those produced towards the end of its run, come equipped with complex technology like advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). These systems, which include features such as lane departure warnings and adaptive cruise control, typically require special calibration when the windshield is replaced, adding to the overall expense.
Another factor influencing the cost is the trim level. Higher trims like the LS or ZR2 often come with additional features or aesthetic enhancements that might require specific windshield types, potentially driving up the replacement cost. Furthermore, the availability of aftermarket parts can also significantly affect pricing. Popular model years with high availability of aftermarket windshields might offer more affordable options compared to models with fewer third-party parts suppliers.
Changes in design across different models—such as major redesigns in the mid-1990s—can also impact windshield replacement pricing. Redesigns often introduce new dimensions or technical specifications for parts, which can limit supply to OEM components if aftermarket options haven’t caught up, thereby potentially increasing costs. Understanding these variables is crucial for anyone facing the windshield replacement decision, ensuring expectations align with realities for Chevrolet S10 owners seeking optimal solutions.

Chevrolet S10 Average Windshield Replacement Cost By Year
Not all windshields are built—or priced—the same. The cost to replace the glass on a Chevrolet S10 depends on its year, trim level, and the amount of technology integrated into the windshield itself. Our average pricing reflects real-world replacement data across thousands of vehicles, then adjusts for the specific features found on your Chevrolet S10. Here’s how the range breaks down:
High-End Range
Some Chevrolet S10 configurations—especially newer or premium trims—come equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as lane-keeping cameras, rain sensors, heated glass, or heads-up displays.
These require OEM-grade glass and a full ADAS recalibration after installation. Because of the precision equipment and labor involved, these versions land at the top end of the price range.
Mid-Range
Many modern Chevrolet S10 vehicles include a few key sensors, like forward-collision or lane-departure cameras, but don’t need OEM glass. These jobs involve some recalibration and additional setup beyond a simple install, which places them in the middle of the pricing spectrum.
Low-End Range
Base trims or older Chevrolet S10 versions usually feature plain laminated glass with no built-in electronics. These are the most straightforward to replace, requiring no recalibration or specialty parts, and therefore fall in the lowest cost tier.

They showed up on time, were professional, and very honest. A few months ago, the wire in my front driver-side window popped, and I had it repaired by another mechanic—but he clearly didn’t know what he was doing because it broke again. Glass Brothers quoted me $300 to replace the regulator based on my description of the issue. When they arrived, they found the regulator was actually still good—the previous repairman just hadn’t put the window back into the clips. Instead of charging me the full $300, they adjusted the price to $125 since the $165 regulator wasn’t needed.

Had my truck window broken out Friday night and they were able to replace it Monday morning and at a much better price than other places I got quotes from. Great service and price. I hope I don’t need their service again but if I do they will be the first place I call.
